At Commit and Act, we believe that volunteering is a powerful tool to empower communities.
We take a lot of care in selecting volunteers, especially those who get to travel to Sierra Leone. We don't want that our presence has a negative impact on the local life or that the trip overburdens the volunteer.

We work with volunteers from all around the globe.
Put your talents to work and make a difference in the world!

Some of our principles
concerning volunteers:
1
Outside of Sierra Leone, we ALL all volunteer
We get paid back with the satisfaction of seeing how our time contributes to improving the lives of many individuals. As volunteers we also take care of our own expenses when we travel to Sierra Leone, we don’t use the funding for that.
2
Selfcare first
It sounds simple, but sometimes it is not easy to do, in the face of the big amount of suffering in Sierra Leone. We believe in sharing from abundance, not in sacrifice. Even if times can be challenging, we support each other to get back to our own balance before we give more.
3
We respect each other's autonomy
We don’t tell anybody what to do - not within our teams and not in our projects. This is why people in Sierra Leone love our work: they get a space to unfold their own values (not good advice on what to do better). This is also how we work in our teams, nevertheless within clear commitments and boundaries.

SOME OF OUR volunteers
Working remotely from everywhere!
Besides our local and international board members, we currently have people who volunteer all around the world. Get to know our team of volunteers!
